On May 11, 2022 the ACA passed a special motion to enhance the price fund of the 2022 Trumpeter Open by contributing $500 towards the prize fund.

Albertans are invited to compete in the Atlantic Chess Festival July 29 – Aug 2nd. The Canadian Senior and the Mayflower open will take place in Halifax NS. Entries are now open for the 2022 AB Youth Championship in Edmonton. The winner in each section will receive a $1000 travel grant to go to the CYCC to be held in Hamilton. So far 33 advanced entries, including FM Dale Haessel. This years tournament looks like it will be a big success. Dustin Koperski was recruited at the TD.
