2022 Lethbridge Open – April 2-3 2022 – Great turnout.

So far 33 advanced entries, including FM Dale Haessel. This years tournament looks like it will be a big success. Dustin Koperski was recruited at the TD. AB Closed and Reserves March 18-20


The Edmonton Chess Club will host the 2022 AB Closed and Reserves. For the Closed, it was by qualifying or invitation only. For the Reserves, the details will be posted on the ECC Facebook page. Organized by Rafael Arruebarrena and the TD is Mike Zeggelaar.

Tournament format: 6 player Round Robin, CFC & FIDE rated.
Time Control: 90 minutes / 40 moves + Game in 30 minutes + 30 seconds/move starting on move 1. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. Default late time is 60 minutes.

Tournament format: 5-round Open Swiss, CFC & FIDE rated.
CFC membership is required and may be purchased on site. Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. 
CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.

Time Control: Game in 90 minutes + 30 seconds/move. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. Default late time is 60 minutes.

Saturday: 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm
Sunday: 10 am, 2 pm

Registration: Please pre-register below.  Due to seating capacity with maximum of 2 boards per table, entries will be limited to the first 36 people to register.  Any entries beyond 36 will be on a waiting list. 
Payment will be made on site by cash.
Pre-registered players must pay the entry fee by 9:45 am on Saturday, March 19, or they won’t be paired.

Entry Fee:  $40 .  Free entry for GM/IM/FM title holders.

Prizes: Sum of entry fees minus ACA dues of $10 per player

Byes: A maximum of two half-point byes available in rounds 1-4 if requested before the start of round 1.
