The Alberta Chess Association was incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act in 1973.
We are the official provincial representative of the Chess Federation of Canada and the Chess ‘N Math Association.
We host all provincial chess championships, including the Alberta Championship (Alberta Closed), Alberta Senior’s Championship, Alberta Women’s Championship, Alberta Chess Challenge, and Alberta Youth Chess Championship.
Membership in the ACA is required to participate in any ACA-sponsored tournament. Generally, this membership is purchased as part of a CFC membership; however, juniors who are participating in an all-junior tournament may need to purchase ACA membership separately, if they are in a tournament that does not require CFC membership.
