A new St. Albert Chess Club has just opened in Downtown St. Albert. The Grand Opening is this Friday, October 2nd, from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m., with chess and specialty cookies. Full information about the club at stalbertchessclub.ca.

Registration is open for the 2026 Alberta Open, October 10-12 in Calgary. The ACA’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., between rounds 1 and 2. Information for the tournament is here. A zoom link for the AGM will be made available later.
