The WBX Team Tournament is coming up, December 17-18 in Edmonton. This is a very popular event with teams of three players whose ratings average no more than 2000.

The 2021 AB Junior Championships had two parts. The first was the Closed Championship and it took place on the weekend of November 6-7. It consisted of a 6 player Round-Robin featuring some of the strongest juniors in Alberta. Those included: Paris Dorn, Mark Ivanescu, Anand Rishi Chandra, Hemant Srinivasan, Maxim Vasic and Jinghui Bai. Paris Dorn from Edmonton emerged as the winner with 4/5 and earned ACA sponsored funding for a trip to Canadian Junior in 2022. The second portion was Open and under 1300 sections which this year took place online on December 19th.
