As a reminder, the first event of 2024 is the Schleinich Memorial Sectional, January 5-7 in Calgary.

Registration is open, and full information is available on the Calgary Chess Club website.

The WBX Team Tournament is December 16-17 in Edmonton. Teams are composed of three players whose average rating is no more than 2000. The deadline for registering a team is Monday, December 11, after which teams will only be added to make an even number.

Congratulations to Tymur Keleberda on an Alberta Junior Championship victory! Keleberda scored 3.5/5, just enough to beat out Hemant Srinivasan and Emil Soberov at 3/5.

The Alberta Junior Championship happens November 4-5 in Calgary. The Championship section is a closed, 6-player round robin, and then there is an Open section, a U1300 section, and a U800 section.
