Default late time is 60 minutes

Time Control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

Prizes: $300* for first place, $200* for second, and $100* for third. The Champion will receive a travel grant of up to $1,000 to represent Alberta at the 2023 Canadian Closed Championship (subject to AGLC approval). The Champion may instead use the travel grant for the 2023 Canadian Open in Calgary, if applicable.

Tie Break:

Official ACA tie-breaking rules are in effect. Cash prizes are split equally.

1.     Head to head.
2.     Sonneborn-Berger (Sum of all scores of opponents you won against and half the scores of opponents you drew.)
3.     Koya system (Total points scored against opponents who scored at least 50%).
4.     Most wins.
5.     Most games with black
