Saturday
On-site registration: 9:15 am – 9:45 am
Rounds 1-3: 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm
Sunday
Rounds 4-5: 10 am, 2 pm or ASAP

Registration: Fill out the form below. Payment can be made either by e-transfer to Tournament Director – Bhavik Dave bhavik_ec@yahoo.co.in or cash payment on-site. Pre-registered players must come by 9:45 am on Saturday, or they won’t be paired.

Format
: 5 round open Swiss. CFC & FIDE rated. Default late time is 60 minutes. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. Players may request up to two half point byes for rounds 1-4 prior to the start of the tournament.

Entry fee: $60 if pre-registered online by noon, Thursday, July 28 midnight.  $70 after. $20 discount for juniors (under 20). Payment can be made either by e-transfer to Tournament Director – Bhavik Dave bhavik_ec@yahoo.co.in or cash payment on-site. CFC membership is required and may be purchased on-site, but please buy online ahead of time at chess.ca . Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. A single CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.

Prizes: 50% of the entries (minus ACA dues of $10/player) will go to prizes which may include class prizes.  The other 50% will be used to support the 13th Calgary International Chess Classic (Sept 20-25).  This is a 10 player Round Robin IM norm tournament. The winner is guaranteed entry at the 13th Calgary International for free, provided that the winner has a FIDE rating. The winner must commit to playing by Saturday,  Aug 6th, 2022.

In case of a tie for first the qualification spot will be determined by the following tie break rules:

1)     Head to head (if all those tied played each other).

2)     Buchholz (Sum of all scores of opponents).

3)     Buchholz cut 1 (Sum of all scores of opponents except the lowest point scorer).

4)     Sonneborn-Berger (Sum of all scores of opponents you won against and half the scores of opponents you drew).

5)     Most wins.

6)     Most games with black.


Cash prizes will be divided equally.
