Eligibility:<\/strong> Alberta residents born January 1, 2005 or later. Capacity is 52 players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAPACITY HAS BEEN REACHED AND REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Championship format:<\/strong> Closed 6-player round robin. No byes available. Game in 90 minutes + 30 seconds\/move. No entry fee. CFC & FIDE rated. The winners of the 2024 Edmonton Junior Regional and Calgary Junior Regional automatically qualify. The other four spots will be filled by players who have expressed interest in playing, with the highest CFC rating as of Saturday, October 26th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open format:<\/strong> 5-round Swiss, CFC & FIDE rated. Game in 90 minutes + 30 seconds\/move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under 1300 & Under 800 format:<\/strong> 7-round Swiss (or round robin if the section is smaller). Game in 45 minutes + 30 seconds\/move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration:<\/strong> Fill out the form below. Payment will be made on-site by cash. Pre-registered players must arrive by 9:45 a.m. on Saturday or they won\u2019t be paired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry fee:<\/strong> $40 if registered online by noon, Friday, November 1. $50 on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizes:<\/strong> Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each section. The winner of the Championship section is eligible for a travel grant of up to $750 towards a trip to the 2025 Canadian Junior Championship. If the 2025 Canadian Junior Championship does not take place as expected, the winner may apply to the ACA board to use the grant for another tournament (within one year of winning the award).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiebreak Rules: <\/strong>Ties will be broken using the ACA Tiebreak Procedure<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
