Canmore Chess Club

Our chess meetup tonight was successful, we had players ages 7 to 39 showed up at the community area at Elevation Place. We also had a surprise beverages from Starbucks Canmore. We did couple of informal round-robins and it was fun. Thanks to all the chess players who showed up tonight. We are looking to run another chess meetup on Tuesday (March 1) 6 PM til 7.30 PM at Elevation Place. It’s a free event and this is just for fun. Its all inclusive for any age and any levels. AB Speed and Active Championships – Mar 5/6

Northern Alberta Open – Feb 19-20 – Update
Congrats to IM Bitan Banerjee and NM Omid Malek who tied for 1st place with 4.5/5. Bitan with his better tie break qualified for the 2022 AB Closed. ACA Tiebreak Procedure
For tournaments that require a tiebreak, they may use the one suggested by the ACA technical committee and passed by the ACA Board. It is the can be found on the Home Page – About Us – 2nd link on the right. A tournament may post beforehand their own tiebreak procedures such as an Armageddon finish which would take precedence over the suggested ACA tiebreak.

John Schleinich Memorial 2022 January 7-9 CCC
