Qualifier for the 2024 Alberta Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Format:<\/strong> 6-round open Swiss, CFC & FIDE rated.
Time control:<\/strong> 40 moves in 90 minutes then game in 30 minutes, 30 second increment from move 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Round Times<\/strong>
Saturday \u2013 10:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m.
Sunday \u2013 10:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m.
Monday \u2013 10:00 a.m. & 2:30 p.m. or ASAP after round 5
A 45-minutes break between games is guaranteed. Default late time is 60 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry Fee<\/strong>
$50 if pre-registered by 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5. $60 after.
$15 discount for juniors (2003 birth year or later), seniors (age 65 and over), and female players. GM\/IM title holders receive free entry.
CFC membership is required and may be purchased on site. Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. CFC tournament membership is $20 for adults, $10 for juniors.

Prizes<\/strong>
The ACA is contributing $500 to the prize fund, plus entry fees less $10 ACA dues per paid participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner (if an Albertan) qualifies for the 2024 Alberta Closed.

Registration<\/strong>
Fill out the registration form below. Payment will be made on-site by cash. On-site Registration runs 9:15 \u2013 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 7. Players must arrive by 9:45 a.m. or they won\u2019t be paired.
Byes:<\/strong> A maximum of two half-point byes are available in rounds 1-5 if requested before the start of round 1.

Miscellaneous<\/strong>
The ACA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Sunday, October 8th at 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n
