<\/strong>Saturday
On-site registration: 9:15 am – 9:45 am
Rounds 1-3: 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm
Sunday
Rounds 4-5: 10 am, 2 pm or ASAP<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration:<\/strong> Fill out the form below. Payment will be made on site by either cash or cheque made out to the Alberta Chess Association. Pre-registered players must come by 9:45 am on Saturday, or they won’t be paired.

Format<\/strong>: 5 round open Swiss. CFC & FIDE rated. Default late time is 60 minutes. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. Players may request up to two half point byes for rounds 1-4 prior to the start of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry fee:<\/strong> $35 if pre-registered online by noon, Friday, June 7. $40 after. CFC membership is required and may be purchased on-site. Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. A single CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizes:<\/strong> 50% of the entries (minus ACA dues of $5\/player) will go to prizes which may include class prizes.  The other 50% will be used to support the 12th Calgary International Chess Classic.  The winner is guaranteed entry at the 12th Calgary International, at a reduced cost of $100 (regular entry is $500), provided that the winner has a FIDE rating. The winner must commit to playing by Saturday, June 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case of a tie for first the qualification spot will be determined by the following tie break rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Head to head result (does not apply if more than two players are tied for first)
2. Cumulative
3. Buchholz
4. Sonnenborn-Berger
5. Won Games
6. Games Played with Black
5. Coin Toss
Cash prizes will be divided equally.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
