Payment will be made on site by either cash or cheque made out to the Alberta Chess Association.&nbsp;Pre-registered players must come by 9:45 am on Saturday, or they won&#8217;t be paired.<br><strong><br>Format<\/strong>: 5 round open Swiss. CFC &amp; FIDE rated. Default late time is 60 minutes. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. Players may request up to two half point byes for rounds 1-4 prior to the start of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entry fee:<\/strong>&nbsp;$35 if pre-registered online by noon, Friday, May 3. $40 after. CFC membership is required and may be purchased on-site. Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. A single CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prizes:<\/strong>&nbsp;50% of the entries (minus ACA dues of $5\/player) will go to prizes which may include class prizes.&nbsp; The other 50% will be used to support the 14th Edmonton International Chess Festival.&nbsp; The winner will have the right to participate in the 14th Edmonton International if the following conditions are met:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) The winner has an established FIDE rating,<br>b) The winner commits to playing by Monday, May 13th and pays a non-refundable $200 entry fee plus a $100 refundable deposit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case of a tie for first the qualification spot will be determined by the following tie break rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Head to head result (does not apply if more than two players are tied for first)<br>2. Cumulative<br>3. Bucholz<br>4. Sonnenborn-Berger<br>5. Won Games<br>6. Games Played with Black<br>5.
