Registration:<\/strong> Fill out the form below. Payment can be made either by e-transfer to Tournament Director – Bhavik Dave bhavik_ec@yahoo.co.in<\/a> or cash payment on-site. Pre-registered players must come by 9:45 am on Saturday, or they won\u2019t be paired.

Format<\/strong>: 5 round open Swiss. CFC & FIDE rated. Default late time is 60 minutes. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. Players may request up to two half point byes for rounds 1-4 prior to the start of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry fee:<\/strong> $60 if pre-registered online by noon, Thursday, July 28 midnight.  $70 after. $20 discount for juniors (under 20). Payment can be made either by e-transfer to Tournament Director – Bhavik Dave bhavik_ec@yahoo.co.in<\/a> or cash payment on-site. CFC membership is required and may be purchased on-site, but please buy online ahead of time at chess.ca . Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. A single CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizes:<\/strong> 50% of the entries (minus ACA dues of $10\/player) will go to prizes which may include class prizes.  The other 50% will be used to support the 13th Calgary International Chess Classic (Sept 20-25).  This is a 10 player Round Robin IM norm tournament. The winner is guaranteed entry at the 13th Calgary International for free, provided that the winner has a FIDE rating. The winner must commit to playing by Saturday,  Aug 6th, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case of a tie for first the qualification spot will be determined by the following tie break rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1)     Head to head (if all those tied played each other).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2)     Buchholz (Sum of all scores of opponents).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3)     Buchholz cut 1 (Sum of all scores of opponents except the lowest point scorer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4)     Sonneborn-Berger (Sum of all scores of opponents you won against and half the scores of opponents you drew).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5)     Most wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6)     Most games with black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Cash prizes will be divided equally. <\/p>\n\n\n
