Qualifier for the 2020 Alberta Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Format:<\/strong> 5-round Swiss, CFC & FIDE rated
Time control: <\/strong>Game in 90 minutes with a 30-second increment
Round times:<\/strong> Saturday – 10 am, ~2 pm, ~6 pm; Sunday – 10 am, ~2 pm or ASAP. A 30-minute break between games is always guaranteed. Default late time is 60 minutes.
Entry fee:<\/strong> $50 regular. $30 for age 18 and under or 65 and over, female players or 1st time CFC players. $10 late fee if registering on site. GM\/IM\/FM title holders receive free entry. CFC membership is required and may be purchased on-site. Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.
Registration process:<\/strong> Fill out the Registration Form below. Payment will be made on-site by cash.On-site Registration: 9:15-9:45 am on Saturday, February 8.
Prizes: The winner (if an Albertan) qualifies for the 2020 Alberta Closed. <\/strong>All entry fees go to the prize fund except for the ACA dues of $10 per paid participant.
Byes: <\/strong>A maximum of two \u00bd-point byes available in rounds 1-4 if requested before the start of round 1.
Qualification for Alberta Closed:<\/strong> Based on a regular ACA tie-breaking system in case of a tie for the first place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
