Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.<br><br><strong>Prizes<\/strong><br>The ACA guarantees a prize fund of\u00a0<strong>$2,000<\/strong>\u00a0based on a minimum of only 30 participants. If fewer than 30 players participate in the tournament, the prizes will be reduced proportionally. Unrated players may only win the open prize, unless they receive a special permission from the organizer to be assigned a rating before the event if a proof of their strength can be provided.<br>The winner (if an Albertan) qualifies for the 2019 Alberta Closed.<br><br><strong>Estimated prizes<\/strong><br>TBD<br><br><strong>Entry Fee<\/strong><br>Open &#8211; Free for GMs and IMs. $40 for all others if pre-registered online by noon, Friday, October 5.Registration after that and at the door is $45. Juniors (18 and under) and Seniors (65 and over) receive a $10 discount.<br><br><strong>Round Times<\/strong><br>Saturday &#8211; 10 AM &amp; 4 PM<br>Sunday &#8211; 10 AM &amp; 5 PM<br>Monday &#8211; 10 AM &amp; 2:30 PM or ASAP after round 5<br>A 45-minutes break between games is guaranteed. A maximum of two half-point byes are available inrounds 1-5 if requested before the start of round 1.<br><br><strong>Registration<\/strong><br>Fill out the form above to pre-register. Payment will be made on site by either cash or cheque made out to&#8221;Alberta Chess Association.&#8221; On-site registration: Saturday, October 6, 9:15 am &#8211; 9:45 am.\u00a0Players who show up after 9:45 am may not be paired for the first round even if pre-registered.<br><br><strong>Miscellaneous:<\/strong>Snacks will be provided during the tournament.<br><br>The\u00a0<strong>ACA Annual General Meeting<\/strong>\u00a0(AGM) will take place on Sunday, October 7, at 3:30 pm.
