3 Day Beginner Chess Camp<\/em><\/strong>
August 20-22<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This all-girls chess camp is designed for beginners ages 8-16. You’ll learn how to set up the board and move the pieces, how to record your moves in chess speak, and all the basics of chess. After this camp, you’ll be ready to play in your first tournament!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp will feature a mix of group work led by team leaders, lectures from WIM Agnieszka Matras-Clement, casual and serious games, game analysis, a simul, and more! A chess movie will be shown during the lunch period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Space is only reserved once payment has been received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost of the 3 day camp: $70. There is a $5 discount for each additional sibling. $10 off if registered by July 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Included: Two snacks per day, t-shirt, and prizes. Bring your own lunch! T-shirts only guaranteed if registered by July 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Day Intermediate Chess Camp<\/em>
<\/strong>August 21-22This all-girls chess camp is designed for players who already know how to move the pieces, record moves, and play the game, but who haven’t reached a CFC rating of 1200. Girls ages 8-16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp will include games, lectures, casual chess, a simul, and more! A chess movie will be shown during the lunch period.
Space is only reserved once payment has been received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost of the 2 day camp: $50. There is a $5 discount for each additional sibling. $10 discount if registered by July 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Included: Two snacks per day, t-shirt, and prizes. T-shirt guaranteed only if registered by July 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration and Payment<\/em><\/strong>
Registration is now closed. Payment should be made with a check made out to the\u00a0Alberta Chess Association<\/em>\u00a0and mailed to PO Box 11839 Main, Edmonton, AB T5J 3K9. Space is only reserved once payment has been received. Payment must be received by Wednesday, August 15; in order to receive reimbursements for cancelation, a cancelation notice must be sent to albertachess@gmail.com by this date.
