The exact format of each section will depend on the number of participants but players will play a minimum of three games. Chess \u2019n Math rated, but the higher of CFC and Chess \u2019n Math ratings will be used for pairing purposes. \u00a0Open to Alberta residents only.\u00a0 The TD\u2019s reserve the right to confirm a player\u2019s grade.<br> <strong><br> Time control:<\/strong>\u00a0Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay for grades 3-12. \u00a0Clocks may be added in grades 1 and 2 at TD discretion.<br> <strong><br> Entry fee:\u00a0<\/strong>$25 if pre-registered online by 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25<sup>th<\/sup>; $35 registering online later or registering on site.<strong><br> <br> Registration<br> <\/strong>Fill out the registration form below (Player Name, Grade, School Name, Contact E-Mail). Payment may be made by e-transfer to davidludwigCA@gmail.com or on site by cash.\u00a0The deadline for online registration is Thursday, March 26<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tournament will start at 11:00 a.m. precisely. You must arrive\nbefore 10:45 a.m. to ensure you are paired in the first round, or else you may\nhave to wait until round two. Check-in at the venue runs from 10:05 \u2013 10:45\na.m.&nbsp; There is no designated lunch break,\nbut players will be given a 30-minute break at the midway point in their grade\n(after round two for sections with three or four rounds).&nbsp; <strong>Please note that lunch will not be\nprovided this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prizes<\/strong> <br>\n1<sup>st<\/sup> place finishers in each grade will receive trophies. 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\nand 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place will receive medals.&nbsp;\nGrade winners earn the right to represent Team Alberta at the 2020\nCanadian Chess Challenge in Montreal. The ACA will provide a $350 travel grant\nto each winner to help offset travel expenses for&nbsp;the May 16-18 tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Tie-break procedure<\/strong><br> a. For 1<sup>st<\/sup> place ties, there will be a 15-minute playoff game between all tied players.
