The mission of the Alberta Chess Association is as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(a) To foster, promote, administer, and co-ordinate chess activities in Alberta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(b) To give guidance to any group wishing to form a chess club in the province and to help maintain present clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(c) To give direct assistance to junior chess, recognizing a need for special assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(d) To host specific sponsored events to give continuity to chess in Alberta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(e) To represent the Alberta chess community to the Chess Federation of Canada, local government, and other associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Alberta Chess Association has traditionally listed another objective, one which was not in its original Constitution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
