Format<\/strong>
6-round open Swiss, CFC & FIDE rated. 40 moves in 90 minutes, then game in 30 minutes, 30 second increment from move 1.CFC membership is required and may be purchased on site. Annual membership is $43 for adults, $28 for juniors. CFC tournament membership is $21 for adults, $11 for juniors.

Prizes<\/strong>
The ACA guarantees a prize fund of $2,000<\/strong> based on a minimum of only 30 participants. If fewer than 30 players participate in the tournament, the prizes will be reduced proportionally. Unrated players may only win the open prize, unless they receive a special permission from the organizer to be assigned a rating before the event if a proof of their strength can be provided.

The winner (if an Albertan) qualifies for the 2020 Alberta Closed.

Entry Fee<\/strong>
Open \u2013 Free for GMs and IMs. $40 for all others if pre-registered online by noon, Friday, October 11. Registration after that and at the door is $45. Juniors (18 and under) and Seniors (65 and over) receive a $10 discount.

Round Times<\/strong>
Saturday \u2013 10 AM & 4 PM
Sunday \u2013 10 AM & 5 PM
Monday \u2013 10 AM & 2:30 PM or ASAP after round 5
A 45-minutes break between games is guaranteed. A maximum of two half-point byes are available in rounds 1-5 if requested before the start of round 1.

Registration<\/strong>
Fill out the form below to pre-register. Payment will be made on site by cash only. On-site registration: Saturday, October 12, 9:15 am \u2013 9:45 am. Players who show up after 9:45 am may not be paired for the first round even if pre-registered.

The ACA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Sunday, October 13, at 3:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
