Road Warrior
For 2010, any Albertan who plays in a registered Road Warrior event will collect “Road Warrior” points. At the end of the year, the Albertan who has collected the most Road Warrior points will be “Road Warrior (Mad Max)” for the year.
Prizes for 2010:
1st $400
2nd $200
3rd $100
4th $100
5th $100
6th $100
Total Prizes $1,000!
With this new prize structure you have more reasons to jump in the car and head out of town to play!
The final tally is in and here are the top 3 finishers for 2009.
1st Aaron Sequillion 50.5 pts
2nd Roy Yearwood 39.5 pts
3rd Chris White 39 pts
Aaron played in each and every event in 2009! Roy narrowly edges out last years winner Chris White by 1/2 a point to claim 2nd! Congratulations to the three of you.
We are currently seeking a sponsor for 2010 and the prize fund may be increased considerably! Watch this page for updates.
We will also be awarding a point to each player who participates in an event before applying travel points. So, for a player from Edmonton taking part in an event in Calgary, they will receive 1 point for showing up, then 3 travel points for a total of 4 points for that event.
Road Warrior travel points will be awarded as follows:
Calgary to Edmonton 3.0 pts
Calgary to Red Deer 1.5 pts
Calgary to Grande Prairie 8 pts
Calgary to Lethbridge 2 pts
Calgary to Medicine Hat 3 pts
Edmonton to Calgary 3.0 pts
Edmonton to Red Deer 1.5 pts
Edmonton to Grande Prairie 5 pts
Edmonton to Lethbridge 5 pts
Edmonton to Medicine Hat 6 pts
For cities and towns not listed here, we will use Mapquest to determine distance to the tournament site. The number of Road Warrior travel points will depend on distance travelled one way (approx 1 road warrior point per 100 km travelled).
The Road Warrior Grand Prix will be administered by Tony Ficzere and he reserves the right to determine the number of Road Warrior travel points. Here is a complete list of registered Road Warrior events for 2009:
