This is an ACA sponsored event.winners of the various age groups will get partial expenses paid towards the CYCC 2011.
Sections
Under Age 8 (Born after January 1, 2003)
Under Age 10(Born after January 1, 2001)
Under Age 12(Born after January 1, 1999)
Under Age 14 (Born after January 1, 1997)
Under Age 16(Born after January 1, 1995)
Under Age 18(Born after January 1, 1993)
CFC membership is required (can be purchased on-site). $27 for one year junior membership or $10 for single tournament membership
Entry Fee: $25 cash only please (to be paid on-site)
Prizes: All entry fees paid back per section minus $5 per player ACA tournament fee. Trophies for overall winners
Format: Round Robin if 6 players or less per section. Swiss if 7 players or more per section
Time Control: Game in 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment
Rounds: Minimum of 3 games and maximum of 5 games depending on numbers
Round Times:
Round 1 at 10:00 am Saturday
Round 2 at 1:30 pm Saturday
Round 3 at 5:00 pm Saturday
Round 4 at 10:00 am Sunday
Round 5 at 1:30 pm Sunday
Playoffs: To be followed immediately after Round 5 if necessary. One game of Game in 25 minutes + 10 second delay. Colors to be determined based on previous colors in tournament
Byes:Forced byes 1 point, other byes 1/2 point. You must let TD know of byes before the start of round 1
Registration: You must register between 9:00am-9:50am, Saturday Feb 12 at Edmonton Chess Club to be entered in event. If you are running late, please call (780) 991-9463 or (780) 424-0283 to let TD know you are coming
