The Alberta Chess Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of chess in Alberta. The ACA has sponsored the Battle at the Border for the past four years and has provided more funding and resources than any other organization. We are grateful for their support.
The Saskatoon Chess Club is the most active chess organization in Saskatchewan and it has been very helpful in fundraising for this year's event. Moreover, many players from Saskatoon play in the Battle every year, which contributes to the tournament's success.
Paddock Wood has been a huge help with fundraising for the 2010 Battle at the Border (all money raised from Paddock Wood fundraisers will be used for flights for our featured players). If you want to return the favour, pick up a 6-pack of one of Paddock's brews next time you come across it. If you don't have any in your area, simply ask your local LB to bring some in.
BAR Engineering is one of the most respected engineering firms in the Lloydminster area in terms of quality of work and committment to community events. BAR has supported the Battle at the Border for the past three years and we are very thankful for their help.

Nexen Inc. is a Canadian-based global energy company that has an office in Lloydminster, among many other places. Nexen has been a sponsor of the Battle at the Border since the beginning, and we owe a great deal to their support. It should also be noted that Terry Chaisson has been instrumental in securing Nexen's sponsorship year after year.
Techmation Electric & Controls provides a complete range of electrical and instrumentation services to all facets of the commercial and heavy industrial sectors. In Lloydminster, under the leadership of Bob Denny, Techmation is highly supportive of community events, and their sponsorship of this year's Battle illustrates this point. In fact, out of all the companies that were asked to sponsor the Battle at the Border, Techmation was the quickest to respond - twenty minutes after receiving the proposal letter and preliminary budget!
Huw Evans of Eye Catcher design is responsible for creating the Battle at the Border logo free of charge! Over the last ten years Huw has also dontated his artistic services to create logos for the Saskatoon Chess Club, the SK Chess Association, and the SK Scholastic Association. If you ever need a creative influence for your project, Huw is your man.
Signs 'N More has donated two large BATB signs for this year's tournament, and they look fantastic! I have had the pleasure of dealing with Signs 'N More for other non-BATB promotional items and they have been great to deal with. If you need a creative contact in the Lloydminster area, Signs 'N More should be your first call.
The Edmonton Chess Club has agreed to lend three DGT chess boards so that live games can be broadcast over the Internet.
